Clearly, only Mike can pour drinks no matter how long the patrons are waiting. At this point we decided to leave, of course not before letting the manager know how we felt about our treatment as patrons, somewhat regular since we are weekenders. We waited over 20 minutes and had not yet been served our order, and Mike, the bartender, had not been behind the bar for almost the entire time we were there, he served the man sitting at the bar his drinks and food and then vanished. Today’s experience was unbelievable, we waited and watched as other diners were served drinks and food while we had not yet received our drink order, we knew exactly when we arrived because we had planned to watch the game and were happy we would see kick off. There have been several experiences of poor or slow service at Antlers but since our choices are limited in the area we dealt with the frustration. There are very few restaurant choices in the area, the one we chose most often WAS Antlers. We have a home in the Canadian Lakes and are generally there every weekend. I chose to open Wood Shop Social because I am from here and I want to give the community something we can all be proud of.Another bad experience at Antlers in Canadian Lakes. “My goal is to give the community something that has been lacking for a very long time. In years prior he ran the kitchen at Short's Brewing Company when it first opened, served as Executive Chef at The Sanctuary for ten years, and most recently served as Executive Chef/Partner at Antlers Fireside Grill and CL Pizza Co. This is not Wood’s first time in the kitchen. I went on to receive my bachelor’s in business management with an emphasis on hospitality management from Madonna University.” Wood says, “I graduated culinary school at Schoolcraft College. Jim, now an experienced chef, was born and raised in Mount Pleasant, and, after varied schooling and training experiences, has decided to call it home as an adult.
